Hari Raya at Sg.Rengit

After we came back from Kampung Kurnia, Tronoh , Perak, we left Kota Damansara for Sg. Rengit at 9.30 am on the next day. I brought along the same four children - Johan, Amin, Anita and Anuar. Sg.Rengit is further away by twice the amount of time that it would take to go to Tronoh. Driving on the PLUS Highway was smooth-going all the way until we reached Kulai and Kota Tinggi, where the heavy traffic there held us up a bit. Finally, we reached Suria's house in Sg. Rengit at about 3.30 pm.

When we reached Suria's house, the Melaka's relatives were already there. They came in four (4) MPVs'. The Melaka's relatives are the children and grandchilden of Kak Sarah, whose late father, aruah Pah Ngah, was the elder brother of my late mum. So I am Sarah's cousin. We have not met since my late uncle, aruah Pak Long, passed away in the sixties (1960's).

The purpose of my visit to Sg. Rengit was not only to visit my sick elder brother, Shariff, but also to introduce my children to the relatives there so that in future they won't feel like strangers when they meet each other. It was fortunate that kak Sarah and her children/grandchildren were also there to enable us to renew our ties with them.
A picture paints a thousand words. So, I'm not going to write much here except to paste some of the photos that I had taken that day to show you.

Photo No.13
The 3 Musketeers or 3 Stooges? This photo was taken in the car on the way back to Kota Damansara.

We stayed overnight at a budget hotel in Sg.Rengit. Yani took the kids to the beach in the evening. We had dinner at Suria's house that night and after that Yani brought the kids to see the ship at Tg.Pengerang and Sabana Cove.

The following day we had breakfast at Suria's house again. After breakfast, Suria and her hubby Alik took us to my late mum's grave. After we finished reciting few verses of the Al-Quran for my late mum, we went to drop by Kak Yam's house before we proceeded to leave Sg.Rengit for Kota Damansara. We left at about 10.00 am and reached Kota Damansara at about 4.30 pm. .
We felt the same way after we visited Sg. Rengit as we felt after visiting Tronoh, that we should visit our relatives more often to "eratkan silaturrahim". Unlike the previous years, we intend to make the next coming years to be visiting years for us and our relatives, at least during the Hari Raya time.

Yours truly

Ir.Roslan bin Karimudin
