Hari Raya at Tronoh

My father passed away on 5th July, 1999 and was buried at Kampung Kurnia in Tronoh, Perak. That was the last time that I visited the place until this year when I decided to go there to visit my brothers, sisters and relatives living there. We left Kota Damansara at 9.30 am on Sunday, 14th October 2007, which was the second day of Hari Raya Puasa. I brought along four of my nine children - Johan, Amin, Anita and Anuar. The other five children of mine could not be with me this year due to the following reasons: -

(1) Zorzini and Zorlinda - they decided to celebrate the Hari Raya outstation this year.

(2) Josef is studying medicine in Moscow, Russia
(3) Sureen Nita is studying Electrical Engieering in New York, USA
(4) Jowin decided to go back to Masai in Johor to study for his exams, which are due after the Hari Raya. He said he couldn't concentrate on his preparation for the exams whilst celebrating Hari Raya at the same time.
I was glad that I could see all my relatives there, except for younger sister Laila and her family. I was informed that her husband had a serious case of diabetes and couldn't drive to Tronoh this year.
A picture paints a thousand words. So, I'm not going to write much here except to paste some of the photos that I had taken that day to show you.

It was a day trip to Tronoh and we left Kampung Kurnia at about 4.00 pm. It was unfortunate that my other five (5) children couldn't make it this time, but we intend to make it at least an annual affair to visit them. It is the duty of every good Muslim to "eratkan silaturrahim" amongst ourselves, especially with our own flesh and blood.

"...Dan bertaqwalah kepada Allah yang kamu selalu meminta dengan menyebut-yebut namaNya, serta peliharalah hubungan (silaturrahim) kaum kerabat; kerana sesungguhnya Allah sentiasa memerhati (mengawas) kamu...." (Surah An-Nisaa' Ayat 1)
The following day we visited my elder brother, Shariff and other relatives at Sg.Rengit in Johor. To read about our trip there, please click here.

Yours truly
